What We Do

Technology Assessment

WHAT IS IT? The Stout Technology Assessment is a 12-point review of code, database schema, environment, practices and processes for a small to mid-sized company or for a single team within a large company.

WHO NEEDS THIS SERVICE? The service is designed for the non-technical manager (or no-longer-technical manager) or other Information Technology stakeholder overseeing a software development activity.

Technical managers who would like to have an outside assessment of how closely their team is adhering to industry best practices will also benefit.

WHO PERFORMS THE ASSESSMENT? Our team consists of a technical architect, a business analyst and a technology executive.

The participants from your company include technical team members and key non-technical staff.

HOW DOES IT WORK? Typically, we conduct a series of in-depth interviews revolving around development, business processes and management activities. Our technical architect analyzes what he learns from the interviews and reviews code, database, and other key artifacts. Our business analyst reviews interview results and identifies what works and what doesnt work, or is wasteful or just missing. Team strengths and weaknesses are captured. Then our technology executive reviews their work and brings it all together.

The findings are documented for your review and the assessment is concluded with a final debrief for the key stakeholders involved.

THE RESULTS: You receive an outside expert view of the state of your development activity.
