Description:
Growing Southeast Michigan software engineering, consulting and staffing company with national client base is seeking to add 1-2 Business Development and Sales professionals to its staff.

Job Purpose:
Develop strong interest and increased demand for company's software consulting, engineering and staffing services from prospective customers through proper representation of the company's brands, with the goal of closing a high volume of new business for the company as rapidly as possible.

Duties:
. Daily work is focused on executing the highest possible volume of sales-related activities, including:
o developing new customer lists;
o making warm and cold sales phone calls;
o arranging and attending sales meetings with customers;
o introducing prospective customers to company via written communications;
o attending industry events to generate new contacts;
o qualifying leads and working with company's technical staff to turn genuine leads these into closes.
. Regular tracking and reporting of all sales-related activities, including phone calls, e-mails, letters and meetings will be required. Must be willing and able to keep accurate records of these metrics and report them on a weekly basis. Must be prepared to discuss specifics upon request with Sales Manager.

Requires:
. Proven track record of strong sales work in the software engineering and/or systems industry, minimum 3 years.
. Ability to properly qualify prospective customers as to compatibility with company processes and financial requirements.
. Excellent spoken and written English language communications skills.
. Demonstrated understanding of standard software engineering practices and methodologies.
. Ability and willingness to rapidly learn new software engineering practices and methodologies.
. Ability to understand legal contractual language.
. Ability to rapidly and consistently produce accurate sales communications in whatever form to prospective customers.
. Must be able to work independently at own location without direct supervision.

Preferred:
. Hands-on experience with software and/or embedded systems development.
. Knowledge of standard recruiting and hiring practices.
. Candidates with professional sales certification, such as Sandler, will get first consideration.

Schedule:
Will consider candidates that are available on either a full-time or flexible part time basis.

Compensation:
Different compensation options can be discussed with the understanding that compensation will be heavily weighted towards sales commissions. Commissions are based on profit margins from each service sold.

Note that laptops and cell phones will not be provided initially
