We are searching for a Cyber Security Analyst I to serve as an analyst responding to security incidents and alerts and to serve as a threat hunter.

One type of ideal candidate will have 2+ years of hands-on IT experience in a system administration (Windows/Linux mix) role coupled with a strong academic background in Information Security.

A second type of ideal candidate will have 2+ years of hands-on IT experience in a system administration (Windows/Linux mix) role coupled with 1 or more years' professional cyber security experience.

LOCATION
Seneca Falls, NY

COMPENSATION
$65K to $85K commensurate with skills and experience, with a 10% target annual bonus.

REQUIRED SKILLS FOR CYBER SECURITY ANALYST I

• 2+ years of hands-on IT experience in a system administration (Windows/Linux mix) role
• Strong academic cyber security training or at least 1 year of professional cyber security experience
• Well versed in log analysis
• Familiar with vulnerability assessment tools (Nessus, Nmap)
• Familiar with endpoint and network security tools/techniques such as investigating AntiVirus or IDS alerts
• Skilled at scripting for automation (Python, PowerShell, APIs)
• Skilled at Windows/Linux hardening
• Strong understanding of network ports and protocols

PREFERRED

• Bachelor of Science in Information Security or similar
• Any security-related certifications such as GCIH, GCFA, CEH, Security+, TCSE

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

• Respond to security incidents
• Create additional alerts for threats
• Tune security solutions
• Detect, monitor, analyze, and escalate security incidents. Search the environment for potential insider or advanced persistent threats and rogue devices.
• Perform network scanning and vulnerability assessments
• Analyze network traffic and intrusion alerts, discerning false positives where applicable
• Identify and respond to threats. See incident through to resolution and document the event.
