Sales Engineer, Thin-film & Industrial Metrology

We are searching for a Technical Sales Engineer to represent our client's thin-film and industrial metrology tools.

You will be joining a leading manufacturer of in-line, in situ, and ex situ metrology tools for the semiconductor and thin-film industries.

In this role, you will provide technical sales support, research and identify new market opportunities, and assist in marketing and application development efforts to grow markets and customer base.

LOCATION
Ann Arbor, MI area

This is a 100% onsite role.

COMPENSATION
$60-$90K depending on skills and experience.

EDUCATION
A minimum of a B.S. in engineering, or a B.S./B.A. in physics, materials science, math, or chemistry. Candidates with a Master's or Ph.D. degree are encouraged to apply.

REQUIRED FOR SALES ENGINEER THIN FILM INDUSTRIAL METROLOGY
  • 2+ years in a Technical Sales Support role
  • Experience with one of the following: thin film deposition, semiconductor devices, vacuum technology, optics, or solar panels
  • Fluent use of Windows-based PCs is required (including MS Office)
  • Ability to travel when necessary
  • The successful candidate must be a self-starter, possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and have a positive and outgoing personality.

PREFERRED
  • Experience with lead tracking software is a plus.

OVERVIEW
  • Support all aspects of technical sales.
  • Work with prospects, leads, and contacts to assess opportunities, prepare responses to RFQs, define product configuration solutions, and generate quotes.
  • Document and manage opportunities in lead tracking/customer management software.
  • Demonstrate and transfer industry, technical, and product knowledge to potential customers at research laboratories, universities, and production facilities.
  • Follow up on leads and establish customer rapport.
  • Work with customers and distributors.
  • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and production departments to determine how products and services could be designed or modified to meet customer demands and market trends.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest industry developments and technological advances in products or services offered by competitors.
  • Support trade shows.
