We are searching for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to work with our client in the area of vehicle infotainment units.

LOCATION
Farmington Hills, MI

TRAVEL
Up to 10% travel.

COMPENSATION
Up to 96K depending on skills and experience.

REQUIRED
  • 5+ years of embedded software development or testing.
  • 5+ years of C++ or other structured language.
  • Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multi-processor, multi-interface environment.
  • Working knowledge of software development tools (debuggers, emulators, compilers, etc).
  • Able to use oscilloscope and logic analyzer for trouble shooting.
  • Ability to read schematics and debug analog and digital hardware.
  • I2C, RS232, SPI or other serial interface experience.
  • Vehicle networking experience such as CAN, MOST, etc.
PREFERRED
  • Microsoft Visual Studio development experience (or equivalent) preferred
  • Audio/Multimedia experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of multiple embedded operating systems.
OVERVIEW
  • Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications and translate these into software designs.
  • Analyze existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bugs, and/or port to different platforms.
  • Test software designs and code at the unit and system level to ensure that all requirements are met and the highest software quality is achieved.
  • Participate in internal and customer driven design reviews.
  • Identify product requirement or performance issues. Work with software team leader to negotiate resolution.
  • Communicate with peers to coordinate software development. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups.
  • Manage small projects and technical resources, including planning, estimating and follow through.
  • Manage large projects and technical resources, including planning, estimating, and developing requirements in compliance with the established software development process.
  • Work with customers to further define requirements and to resolve issues.
