Are you a UI developer with 2+ years’ experience leading teams?

Our client is searching for a Software Development Manager. You will lead a team of software engineers and be directly responsible for the design and development of all Web interface UI components for our client’s software products, all while working within a fantastic work culture.

LOCATION
Livonia, MI

COMPENSATION
80-120K (dependent upon skills and experience)

REQUIRED

• 2+ years leading teams and managing staff.
• 5+ years hands-on software development including advanced web technologies (AJAX, Ext JS, JavaScript, HTML5, PHP) or Java/JSP.
• Experience with database systems and SQL.
• Experience adapting the best aspects of Agile and other methodologies.
• System design experience with medium-to large-scale software products.

PREFERRED

• Experience with iOS and Android app development.
• Experience leading Agile/Scrum development.
• Knowledge of J2EE application servers such as Tomcat or WebSphere.
• Experience in optimizing browser performance and compatibility issues.
• Experience in designing for and testing under large data volumes and stress conditions, including the use of stress testing tools.
• Source control, particularly Perforce.
• Knowledge of Apache Struts and/or Velocity.

OVERVIEW

• Lead the development team that creates the advanced AJAX-based Web and mobile user interfaces to all of client’s products.
• Provide technical leadership of design, implementation, process, and make quick team decisions.
• Provide accurate development estimates and project resource plans. Do hands-on software/UI design, code reviews, and programming (approximately 50% of time).
• Balance team resources and skill sets with product requirements and timelines.
• Deliver high quality software releases on-time.
• Hire additional software engineers and web developers.
