We are searching for a talented, classically trained software engineer who would like to work in any of the following: traditional software, Web, mobile or Mac.

Our client would like to hire a bright engineer who has very strong fundamentals, can work in any of the above-mentioned areas and would like to grow into new areas.

LOCATION
Lansing, MI area. Our client is strongly interested in former Michigan residents who have moved away and would like to return home.

COMPENSATION
$30-$50/hour, commensurate with skills

6-month contract with possibility of direct-hire

REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Very strong fundamental development skills
• You must have one of the following skills sets (and an interest in growing into one or more of the others):
  
  Superior programming and analysis skills in creating object-oriented, event driven, multi-threaded software with Visual Studio tools (either C++/MFC/COM or C#/.NET)
  
  Experience with front-end development in healthy combination of the following: HTML, XHTML, XML, XSLT, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery
  
  Extensive experience developing mobile apps with either Objective C/iOS or Java/Android, including Web services
  
  Strong experience with Cocoa/Objective C, C++/C and Quartz including intimate knowledge of the Mac OS X development environment and tools

PREFERRED

• Experience with multi-media technologies such as video, audio and compression
• Experience and strong understanding of Cloud computing and issues (especially on the MS Azure platform)
• Strong understanding of security issues and resolutions
• You have outside development interests
• You are demonstrably continuous learner

OVERVIEW

• You will be developing commercial (shrink-wrap type) software that is rapidly evolving to serve new platforms (such as mobile) and paradigms.
