Our client has a number of ongoing and upcoming R&D programs for interesting applications in extreme environments addressing challenges in:
- Global localization and position estimation
- Scene understanding and vision/lidar/radar-based feature recognition /extraction
- Teleoperated driver assistance using novel control algorithms and user interfaces
- Rollover prevention in off-road environments
- Modeling and simulation of sophisticated ground robots

EDUCATION
MS or Ph.D. in Robotics or Computer, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
REQUIRED
- U.S. citizenship is a requirement. Our client works on U.S. government projects that require citizenship.
- A strong mathematical and engineering background
- Love for robots and robotic systems, including a knowledge of the state-of-the-art in the robotics area
- 5+ years' professional experience
- Ability to research, develop, and prototype new robotic ideas and algorithms. Our client does most development in Linux using the GCC toolchain, so you should know that cold.
PLUS (FOR THE SENIOR ROLE)
- All on-robot development is in C++, so a coding portfolio demonstrating your C++ skill is required.
- The ability to synthesize and model mechatronic systems
PLUS (FOR THE LEAD ROLE)
- Modeling and simulation experience (preferably with some multi-body dynamics experience)
- Demonstrated ability to work with and lead a technical team
- Ideally you will have written some publications on the subject of robotics
