Senior Business Analyst (Lansing, MI)

We are searching for a Senior Business Analyst to join a large ERP implementation project.

LOCATION
Lansing, MI area

COMPENSATION
$75 to $95K, possibly higher for exceptionally well-qualified candidate.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar discipline

REQUIRED
  • Recent documented experience functioning as a senior business analyst in successfully completed projects
  • Five years' experience creating and maintaining process maps and data flow diagrams
  • Five years' experience creating State of Michigan SEM (Systems Engineering Methodology) stage exit documents
  • Five years' experience creating testing plans
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating cross-functional discussions

BONUS
  • Experience in large-scale, complex implementation projects, particularly ERP implementations.

OVERVIEW
  • The Senior Business Analyst will be involved in the following:

    - Lead the selection of the IT strategies, policies, programs and procedures.
    - Serve as IT resource to the Project Manager.
    - Serve as liaison to the PMO and other groups to resolve escalated project issues.
    - Provide IT oversight, guidance, and approval of SOW and RFP.
    - Serve as an active member of Joint Evaluation Committees (JECs) and have voting rights as necessary.
    - Provide oversight of project schedule created by BA staff.
    - Direct Joint Application Development (JAD) for department or enterprise projects
    - Review and approves system design requirements that include sensitive data types (such as highly confidential data, PCI, PII, etc...) and/or the creation of security design requirements for large, multi-agency, or enterprise projects.
    - Research, identify and leverage strategic solutions and apply the reuse of functionality.
    - Review, approve and ensure completion of the test plan and results within the traceability matrix for enterprise wide integration, performance, system or user acceptance test plans for large, multi-agency, or enterprise projects.
    - Lead and facilitate sessions to gather implementation plan requirements. Validate and approve IT implementation plans and execution for large, multi-agency, or enterprise projects, with assistance of others.
    - Lead cross-functional team to evaluate processes for application sustainability based on system changes and load balances and approves recommendations to alleviate problems.
    - Serves as liaison to outside IT consultants/vendors supporting multi-vendor solutions and/or mission critical systems for large, multi-agency, or enterprise projects.
    - Serves as the IT system owner for the client concerning requests, standards, and other program and project matters.
    - Recommend and identify resources for the creation of IT task forces, special committees, and/or research groups.
    - Assist business partners' review of identified opportunities, plans, and recommendations to gain efficiencies by re-engineering business processes.
    - Review and approve data flow models, business process flow models. etc.
    - Resolve escalated issues that impact business processes related to mission critical, multi-agency, or enterprise systems.
    - Evaluate and recommend internal IT processes for application development sustainability to improve service delivery.
