We are searching for a technology leader to oversee the strategic direction and day to day operations of our client's internal and outsourced software development efforts.
This person must come from a software development background and be familiar with operations best-practices, as well as bring expertise in leading software development.
OVERVIEW
Ideally, this person will have experience working for small to medium companies where software is not the primary offering--but is nevertheless a key and integral part of what the company does.
The ideal candidate should have been a software development manager or held a similar technical leadership role managing teams of 5 to 10 resources. Ideally, their previous role will have included responsibility for understanding short term needs and long term product development vision at a highly detailed level. This role will include immersion in our client's product offerings, its competitors' product offerings, and the direction of the overall market, so an aptitude and interest in this level of detail is vital.
This role will require expertise in making buy versus build decisions and in establishing workable partnerships with vendors where indicated.
Understanding of and interest in general technology trends, security issues, mobile computing, service level agreements, software development best practices--these will all be important.
In short, what is needed is a hands-on technology leader. One who can think strategically, advise senior management about trends, trade-offs, etc. all the while staying on top of current software development.

COMPENSATION
Up to 150K plus profit sharing (potentially higher for exceptional fit candidate)
For a candidate who will need to grow into this role, expected compensation is in the range of $110K to $140K plus profit sharing.
